The full description, in Italian, to the reverse translates as follows:

“ONCE IN MILAN, THE DESERT GREYHOUNDS WILL FIND A HOME AT THE DOG SHELTER

Milan 10/17/57

Arriving in Milan this afternoon were 133 African greyhounds, shipped from Egypt to Italy on behalf of a Milanese company, that had risked dying of hunger, prisoners in a squalid kennel in the port of Genoa. The painful story of the poor beasts has moved the hearts of Italian dog lovers and now the dogs have been transferred to Milan where they will find a home in the local dog shelter.

In the photo: the arrival of the greyhounds at the dog’s home in Milan.”
