The description to the reverse of this endearing image, a modern take on Landseer’s famous subject, reads as follows:
“DIGNITY AND IMPUDENCE
Although sacred to the valuable racing greyhounds in Wembley Kennels, special permission has been has been granted to the small daughter of one of the kennel staff to use their exercise ground for her mongrel pup’s daily outing. Pat and her pup are firm friends with the trainers and kennel boys alike and information is readily forthcoming on any training hints that Pat may require.
Photo shows - Pat and her pup showing off their paces before a string of trainer Probert’s greyhounds valued at over £1,000.
FOX NOV. 14th. 32.”
The trainer Probert mentioned (and possibly depicted) is the well known Sidney Probert of Wembley.
